Let me introduce you to the amazing and uber talented Lucy Knisley. An illustrator, comic artist and author currently residing in New York.
I love her simple pages of sketches, use of watercolours and dialog that so many can relate to.
To say her comics and illustrations have made an impact on my life is an understatement. My husband and i have been lucky enough to have her design Logos, book covers and Tattoos. But most of all reading her comics (as you will see below) can be much more then a feast for the eyes.
This page in the book French Milk made me go crazy. I felt i was there with her, wandering the streets of France, sitting in cafes and eating cheese. At the time i read this book I was having an identity crisis. Didn't like my job, my career, myself. This one panel changed my life. I got a job at a comic store, became a vet nurse, am saving to see France and making jewellery because of this one tiny page in an amazing comic.
I was lucky enough to have Lucy design my feet tattoos of my cat Sausage Mckracken and the late Crispin the rat. I wanted to add her work to my other comic artist tattoos including Daniel Clowes and Jeffery Brown.
