"Liam, I want to go to savers" said Cazz. So after a 30min bus ride and trundling along for 1hr by foot we found Savers in the middle of the car district. Savers in Honolulu is the most amazing op shop I have ever seen. We were there for over 1 hr looking at everything from care bear food trays to vintage tiki shirts. There was a drag queen shopping that looked so much like Divine. I got so excited.
Meet Glen of Glen's Collectables. On our way back to the hotel we finally got to visit his shop. It is full to the brim with vintage toys from Harley quin to the ultimate warrior to Pee Wee Herman.
You guys will notice Liam's uber excitement face appears a lot today.
The shelf behind me was just Disney vinyl toys.
After two hrs in Glen's and a morning at Savers this was our haul.
Harley Quin- Kia Asamiya figure, She-Hulk legends figure, Dinosaur Neil figure, Space channel 5 figure, 250 Polaroid camera + accessories, Aladdin, Jar Jar binks, Akira and Kevin Mcalliaster vinyl figures, Bruce Timm/Catwoman original bust, Dexter's lab, Wonder Woman and Yo gabba gabba shirts and a Princess Tiana doll.
After carting our goods back to the hotel we caught a taxi to 12th Ave in Waikiki to continue the comics and toy festival. First stop was Gecko books and comics.
It's amazing to see the cost of comics and statues in America as compared to Australia. So cheap.
Onto Toy's and Joys. This is an anime dream.
They stock Pokemon, vintage games- Dreamcast, Gamecube ect, gaming toys and anime figures.
Note to self: Don't leave Liam alone in Toys n joys... he will smile like a weirdo.
These Barbies were only $40US with 30%off. CRAZY. Why did I not buy any of the Grease ones?
The amazing roof action figure display of Collector Maniacs.
Our final place to visit was this rad coffee house called Coffee Talk.
After a crazy day like today this coffee was better than oxygen.
Now to find our way back to the hotel for a nap. It took 2 buses and over 2 hrs but we made it home in time to watch Hawaii 5 0.
