It's 8pm and Liam and I are out and about at the international marketplace. At night this place gets crazy. Buskers and street stalls everywhere. The streets were full of people and so much good food we couldn't decide where to eat.
Do I need another tiki cup? Yes
This thing had a line beyond a line. You hop in the clear ball and run on top of the water in a pond. Weird.
Now mum, I hope your reading this. Liam and I stumbled upon this little gem heading to an ABC store to grab some snacks. It's called the Rock Island Cafe. The Elvis statue out the front and the fact the owner told me their most popular sandwich was Peanut butter and banana-fried (the Elvis) was more then enough to entice us inside.
Holy moly! I know. It is a replica 50's diner. Filled to the brim with collectibles like James Dean, Coke, Batman, Elvis, Betty Page and Grease. The tables were authentic and had trivial pursuit questions in a cup for your enjoyment.
Of course I wanted to order the Fonzie fries or the Greased Lightnin BLT but I went for the yellow brick road pizza instead.
Even the roof had stuff on it. In the booth behind us the roof had vintage boardgames like Operation and Hungry hungry hippos. Our roof had James Dean and Winnie the Pooh eating a hamburger.
My mind just exploded from happy.
The waiters all had rad costumes and the TV played all kinds of awesome like golden girls, Grease and Elvis.
This is by far the raddest place I have ever eaten in. I am hoping to come back later in the week to get a Blue Hawaii and Elvis Sandwich.
