It occurred to me that since moving to Melbourne all those months ago that I had not been op shopping here. I've been to the Camberwell markets a few times, but not to an op shop. I armed myself with a bagel and Starbucks (yes I am aware all my posts lately start with Starbucks.. hehehe) and headed off to meet up with my Auntie and Cousin in Footscray.
Upon arriving at Savers I found they had all their Halloween stock/costumes on sale. I perused the many costumes from skanky witch to Alice in wonderland, but decided I liked these monster hats the most.
There was so much vintage party wear at this Savers. Pretty sure I should have purchased these GI.Joe party hats, just in case I have a party hat emergency.
Totally rad Mighty Morphin Power Rangers party plates to go with my ridiculous party theme.
They had so many good toys it was hard to not buy them all. A Bernstein bear, Rapunzel, Miss Bunny from Bambi, Street shark and a giant Mickey Mouse.
They had an abundance of radical shirts to choose from. Once again it was very hard to not buy them all. These were 4 of the best but they also had a 90s tourist shirts from Hawaii, Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell and Korn.. just to name a few.
I was so excited when I first saw these acid wash jeans. I have been searching for a pair at op shops for over a year now. Filled with joy I made a quick dash to the change room, only to find that they wouldn't even fit over my butt. Damn you huge lady butt. Alas the acid wash was not meant to be.
After almost two hours and a budget of $20 I left with all this. Strawberry shortcake pillowcase to make into patches $1. Miss Bunny plush $3. Slytherin shirt $5.
And most importantly my totally amazing original Men In Black shirt $4. I flipped out hardcore when I saw this. MIB is one of my favorite films of all time and to get a shirt like this is like finding a needle in a haystack. So much awesome.
And my super fly Wall-E backpack $1. Even his eyes and wheels on the side are zip up pockets. It was in perfect condition too.
A huge thank you to my wonderful cousin Jade and auntie Terrie for keeping me company all day and buying me coffee and cake. Yet another wonderful day in Melbourne.
