Those who know me very well know how upset I was when all the Starbucks closed down in my hometown. I received over 17 phone calls in 48hrs (not joking). For 2 years I could not celebrate Christmas with Starbucks. Christmas was always a little off as I missed sitting in their couches drinking these special holiday drinks with my loved ones. With the move to Melbourne this year came yet another good thing. Starbucks. And living so close to the city means they are everywhere.
Starbucks is special to me. It's not all about the coffee but the feelings and memories I have in their shops. The first time I tasted a Gingerbread Frappuccino many years ago a million fireworks went off in me. This is Christmas. In Australia it is summer and hot on Christmas. One of my life goals is to celebrate a white Christmas in New York with the love of my life sitting in Starbucks on 5th Ave, drinking a Gingerbread latte while listening to Bing Crosby Christmas carols.
Liam kept an eye on the Starbucks website and the day the Christmas drinks arrived we rushed to the busiest Starbucks in Melbourne CBD to taste life how it should be.
And there it is. A perfect moment. Everything has changed for me in the past 6 months, but here, now, this is the same. Same feelings of happiness, family, friends and laughter and most of all Christmas.
