Over the past two months we have had people stay with us in our tiny one bedroom apartment every week/weekend. It has been fantastic. I love feeding people and showing them around our rad town. A few weeks before Christmas my beloved Trevor and Camile came to Melbourne to see rad comedian Sarah Silverman with us. We begun our day in 40degree heat in the city.
First stop was Starbucks of course. In Canberra we have no Starbucks so people who come to visit get really excited for Gingerbread Frappuccino goodness.
Next we headed down Swanston street to see the cute little Christmas town they had built. We all decided it was time to take silly photos. So we did.
Performing in front of the Christmas town was the best busker I have seen in Melbourne. She is a cute as a button hoola hooper. We watched her perform for ages. She hooped over 10 hoops at one point. Amazing.
After a super hot day running around the city we went home, cleaned ourselves up and headed out to Luna Park in St Kilda for some before show fun. I have an abnormal fear of bile so I don't go on any scary rides in case someone hurls (even at Disneyland). But on that very day a young boy ran from a ride and hurled into a bin so loudly that I thought it was someone making fake sound effects. YUCK!!
Camile is such a babe.
The best part of Luna Park was watching Trevor eat fairy floss for the first time... ever. (Weird I know. Poor deprived boy). He looked so funny, this huge dreadlocked metal head dude eating baby pink fairy floss off a stick. Trevor said it was delicious. Hurray!
After filling up on fairyfloss we headed across to the Palais Theatre to watch the ever so lovely Sarah Silverman perform. The show opened with one of my most hated Australians Wil Anderson. He apologized for anything even remotely offensive and sounded like a knob. God I hate him and his stupid black nail polish. Todd Barry was next and absolutely hilarious. He is so soft spoken that just a change in his vocal level can have you giggling.
And as for Sarah Silverman. How can you not love her. She looks like she's 10 (even had pigtails) but is so filthy. Her jokes were so random and didn't feel like she told them at every show. My favourtite part was the end when she sung us cute songs on her guitar. So great.
We had a great time but I feel the cost of the ticket should have meant more Sarah, as she was only on stage for 1 hour.
Another rad weekend with awesome friends. Thanks for visiting Camile and Trev. Please come back soon.
