It's a new month and as you can tell something is different. No more blue. I have been in a bit of a rut the past month. From the loss of a friendship to dreams shattering it's been a horrible May. It was time for a change and a burst of bright orange is just what the doctor ordered.
I began to wash out my pink and blue hair over the the past month. I had over an inch of regrowth and only hints of blue left when I entered the hairdresser on Friday. I went to the cheapest one in the city. For $95AUS a very fancy man bleached my roots and cut my mullet off into a cute little bob. I badly damaged my hair over 8 years by pouring bleach all over it every month to save money. Now I just pay for someone to bleach my roots every 3 months and have always done the colours myself. It felt great to finally cut the last of my burnt hair off.
I caught the train home and opened up my huge container of leftover hair dye from over the years. I got inspired by Hayley Williams from Paramore's hair. Over the washed out blue I used the last of my Manic Panic- Hot hot pink mixed with conditioner. It went a dark purple over the blue and the pink came out really vibrant. For the orange I used Manic Panic- Tiger lily, Electric lava and Electric Sunshine mixed with conditioner. I could not believe how bright it turned out.
It feels good to have healthy hair for the first time in years. I find people smiling at me more thanks to the sunshine on my head and in turn it's making me smile. I feel refreshed and ready to take on whatever this world throws at me.
It's amazing what a hair cut can do for you.
