Last weekend I had the most magical day. The creator of the radical comic Teen Dog- Jake Lawrence came to my work All Star Comics to hang out and sign copies of the comic. I am a massive fan and couldn't wait to meet Jake. I was bouncing off walls all week. We prepared a photo booth where you could have your prom photo with Teen Dog as your date. It was such a great day.
Teen Dog is a comic all about a teenage dog who oozes cool. He skateboards, eats pizza and every body wants to be his friend. His best friend is Marilla who has rad hair and amazing fashion sense. They go on adventures together and help each other get through the lame time that is high school. The first issue was bright, colourful, and made me laugh so much. One of the speach bubbles has now become my new motto. "Kickflippin over the moon".
I worked really hard on my outfit for the day. I wanted make my hair as bright and big as can be and crimping it definitely seemed to work it's magic. I also bought a shirt and hand drew on a picture of Teen Dog dreaming of Pizza. I also drew a patch on the back with the quote "I'm Nice". For those Teen Dog fans out there you will get the joke.

My whole work dressed up in 90s attire to celebrate local Melbourne boy Jake and the radness that is Teen Dog. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw everyone's costumes. My work is so much fun.
Jake and I attempting to be cool. It was really hard not to smile. I was way too happy.
I had the great job of being Jake's assistant for the afternoon. It was so much fun. I think I freaked him out a little because I was fangirling so much. Jake was such a rad dude and it was great to see so many people come out to support him.
If you guys haven't picked up a copy of Teen Dog #1 yet then I think you better get your butt into gear. I have to say it is one of my fave comics of the year and after meeting jake I think I love it on a whole other level.
