How do I even begin to thank you all for this past year. Trying to explain how much you all mean to me is incredibly difficult. You make my life exciting, give me purpose and love. Your emails, comments, photos and support make me smile each and every day and I feel so lucky to have you all in my life. I am not sure why you started reading/watching Nerd Burger, but I just wanted to take this time to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me.
This year has been the most incredible year of my life. From the friendships I've formed, opportunities I've been given and fun I have had. I wanted to share with you all the highlights of my 2014 because to be honest, it's because of you all that 2014 has been the best year of my life.
I made 3 cosplays this year. Harley Quinn, Rufio and Bee and Puppycat. It was both exhausting and incredibly rewarding. I learnt new skills and also found out how much I dislike wigs and styling them. I got so many lovely compliments from people at conventions including one from Rufio himself (Dante Basco) who was very impressed with my costume of his character.
This year saw me get heavily involved in the comic book world and land my dream job. I have been incredibly blessed and lucky to work at the best comic book store in the world for over 6 months now. It has changed my life. I found purpose again and threw my heart into anything and everything comic book related. Thanks to All Star Comics Melbourne I started the All Star Women's Comic Book Club with 2 wonderful girls named Naja and Sophie. We managed to bring together over 50 women each month to make new friends and talk comics. This lead to crazy opportunities like radio shows, podcasts, mentions on popular blogs and even a chance to talk on a panel at a comic book convention. My life has been turned upside down and I have loved every minute of it. Thank you All Star Comics Melbourne for taking a chance on me and making dreams come true.
My love of comics made me jump head first into making YouTube videos this year. I committed to making a Pull List video every week and managed to never skip one. I tried my hand at miniature food craft tutorials, vlogs and even fashion videos including my crazy cat lady video. I have had so much fun teaching you all about comics, being creative and getting to know even more of you.
Thanks to you guys we've hit over 2500 subscribers on the channel. I am so incredibly happy and can not thank you enough for your support.
He's going to kill me for this, but today as I write this I realise more than ever how lucky I am to have my wonderful husband Liam in my life. Over 11 years ago I met him on the way to a party and fell instantly in love. He is still the most handsome, loving, supportive and creative man I have ever met. He helps me with everything you see. He taught me how to edit, takes all of my outfit photos and videos and supports me with everything I ever do. I love him more each and every day and am I just so gosh darn in love that it makes me giggle.
In the year 2015 Nerd Burger is going to be bigger and better. I became exhausted at the end of 2014, setting impossible deadlines for myself and stressing way too much. Here on the blog you can expect a better quality and more personal content. More cosplay, fashion, craft, adventures, comic book and movie reviews as well as collaborations and projects.
Over on the YouTube the weekly comic book pull lists will be just the beginning. Vlogs, comics, fashion and even a trip to Hong Kong- including Disneyland.
I see life as one big adventure I can not thank you enough for coming on this adventure with me.
