I thought it was about time that I show you where I talk to you all from everyday. This is my workspace set up in the corner of my lounge room. I do everything at this desk. E-mails, blog posts, jewellery making, letter writing, sewing, video writing and editing and comic book studies just to name a few.
It is constantly covered in paper, glue, half made creations and cat hair. It is a wonderful place to work in the centre on the apartment where I can still talk to Liam while I work.
On the wall above the desk is the pages from a zine Liam made all about our move to Melbourne. It depicts every challenge, tear and smile we went through. I love looking at it to remember just how hard we worked for this wonderful life we have now.
On my desk shelf are a collection of toys that inspire me. I change this display regularly.
Some of the items I have up there this month:
*Two limited edition Enid from Ghost World dolls
*McDonalds Transformer food toys
*Complete set of McDonalds Ducktales keychains
*Bride Of Chucky set- mint in box
*Beetlejucie vanishing vault- mint in box
*My rare Daniel Clowes Eightball mug
*My plush Chog from the comic Chew given to me by John Layman
Something that never leaves my desk is my original crocheted Nerd Burger hat. Back when Nerd Burger was just a little handmade jewellery shop at small markets in Canberra, Australia I wore this to every market. I bought it from a store on Etsy. People always gave it more attention than my jewellery and would say "Well, if you made those I'd buy something". It used to upset me all the time but I still continued to wear it. It is a constant reminder that if you are willing to work your ass off and keep smiling you can grab those dreams from the sky.
My work space is constantly covered in craft utensils, pom poms and glitter. These two little tubs are moulds, accessories and paint for making miniature food from clay. The card on the right was given to me by Liam one valentines day and makes me smile every single day.
So many tools from glaze to troll doll pens I am always accumulating more to create what I see in my mind. And all of these have been chewed to death by my cat Sausage McCracken who sits on the desk while I work late nights.
I hope you enjoyed a look at my little workspace. It may be small but all the shelves and cups do a great job of holding everything I need to share my words and creations with you all.
