When I first opened this amazing package from The Pink Samaurai my eyeballs nearly exploded. Had I found my kindred spirit? Another magical girl who loves kawaii culture and cats as much as me? Every little brooch was like a small piece of my soul, encapsulating so many of my fandoms from unicorns, to vintage photography and giggling at cat farts. There truly was a brooch for every type of outfit I wear and so I decided to dress accordingly.
Too much sugar in the 80s
This first look was very kawaii culture and 80s inspired. I have been wearing my candy leggings non stop since I picked them up for $20 in Hong Kong. I also finally cleaned up my cupboard and found a bunch of skirts I forgot I had. I picked up this pastel check skirt for $2 at a market.
I chose to wear all the shiny, kawaii, candy brooches with this outfit. A kitty eating a cookie, sprinkles and of course a unicorn brooch. I love that the unicorn brooch does not say I Love Unicorns, just simply the word Unicorn in a holographic heart tells the world your feelings. They all looked very lovely paired with the Cabbage Patch Kids necklace I made.
This is one of my most well known looks. Cat related clothing covered in a ton of cat hair. Keep it real people. No blogger who owns a cat leaves the house looking perfect. This entire outfit cost less than $30Aus. All from E-Bay or second hand shopping.
Of course there had to be numerous Pink Samurai cat brooches. The little kitty with the pink hair is my look alike with a little more sass and the dork brooch was more than fitting for what people said all day about my love of cats.
The thing I got the most compliments on was this adorable sparkly cat face clip. I didn't realise until I got home that it was a collaboration between Pink Samurai and one of my favourite stores ever Neon Heartbreaker. It matches my hair colour perfectly and blinds people from far away with it's many glitter flecks.
This would be a typical work outfit for me- business attire if you will. Covered head to toe in comic books with my hair crimped to keep it out of my face. On this particular day I was super excited to read the new issues of Ms Marvel and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl on the way to work. If you're new to comics these are both great beginners titles with a focus on fun and strong female characters.
I saved my favourite brooches until last. The little cat girl scout stole the show with her little smile and all the badges she's obtained on her sash. And what else can I say about the little farting cat, adorable and stinky.
I hope you guys enjoyed a look at how I style my outfits in the morning. I like to stick to a theme as you can tell. What look was your favourite?
