Do you ever buy a piece of clothing, but never get the confidence to finally wear it? Way back in 2013 I purchased my dream dress. I have been a fan of Lolita fashion for longer than I can remember and I have always wanted to wear a beautiful dress like the ones I see in Japanese fashion magazines.
I was and am still terrified of being called an 'Ita' which is degrading term used to describe people who try to wear Lolita but by off brand and do not dress 100% in Lolita-Lack of petticoats, wrong socks and stockings, bad hair ect.
The top Lolita fashion brand dresses like Angelic Pretty and Alice and the Pirates sell for hundreds of dollars, so when I saw this adorable knock off for only $50 I couldn't resist. So after hiding my dream dress in my cupboard for years, fearing being called an 'Ita' if I ever wore it out; I thought "***k it". Fashion is about wearing what you want and feeling rad and boy does this dress make me feel like a princess.
All day long I was twirling around like a princess in a Disney movie. The dress was so comfortable and flattering and I loved the way the skirt poofed out with the tulle underskirt. It felt so wonderful to wear something I've wanted to for so long.
What I wore:
Cat Hat: eBay
Princess Dress: eBay
Candy Leggings: Hong Kong
Studded Creepers: Gift from my Mum
I wanted to make this post to remind you guys to be fearless in your fashion. Forget about what others may think or say. Dress for one person only. Yourself. And wether it's a crop top, flannel shirt or princess dress; you look fantastic being you.
