While we were in Canberra Liam and I had the chance to hit up one of our favourite places in the world- The Green Shed. A big warehouse at the tip that takes the best parts of what people throw away in their garbage and makes it available for you to buy. It's a little dirty as things have not been cleaned, there is a lot to dig through; but it is worth the work. A magical treasure trove of nostalgic goodness.
An entire wall is dedicated to VHS. Movies, TV shows and specials long forgotten like the sing along Disney songs and complete collections of Mr Bean. It was hard not to buy them all as so many of my favourite memories were collected on tapes that will never be released on DVD or online. I spend ages going through every row remembering special moments with friends as a kid.
No thrift shop would be complete without Sweet Valley high books. I was on the look for the iconic original series covers with beautiful illustrations of the twins, but all I could find were the Sweet Valley University books. They always have the most ridiculous titles.
Liam found this incredible The Last Unicorn Boardgame. It had the most beautiful cover art with crystals, castles and dragons.
We had so much fun not only checking out the Green Shed but hitting up the local op shops all over Canberra. We decided to film a VLog of our Op shop adventure to show you all the best places for when you might visit Canberra.
If you'd like to see all the goodies we picked up just check out the video below. From rad 90s clothing to toys and records. This thrift haul has to be one of the best yet.
Op shopping is one of my favourite things to do. I love the feeling I get when I find a toy I'd long forgotten about from my childhood. It never fails to make me smile on an unremarkable day.
