This past month I have been going crazy with op shopping. (Or thrift shopping if you're in the USA) Any day I have off I love to hit up the op shops in Brunswick street or in the city near my apartment. The scary part is almost every trip I find great stuff from 90s fashion, to vintage toys and lately I've been loving VHS and Cassette tapes. On this day I headed out to Brunswick Savers in my fancy Scooby Doo outfit to find some goodies.
The first place I always check is the kitchen and miscellaneous section. I love looking though the old stationary and bits and bobs. I look for the McDonald's collector glasses, Pizza Hut character mugs and theme park merchandise. This re release Care Bears tin was so adorable and a steal at only $3.
I took a photo of this guy for my Australian readers. Childhood icon Humphrey B Bear had lost his big adorable nose but still looked very dapper in his coat and hat. This little guy kept me company growing up playing games and singing songs on Australia television. CLICK HERE to see his theme song. I really wanted to take Humphrey B Bear home and make him a new nose.
This incredible Playschool toy is a re release Glow Worms piece from 2007. The screen lights up and shows a story and plays a charming song. It was in great condition but too modern for my liking.
And this is my absolute favourite find of my op shop trip. I found this pristine, never worn shirt from the iconic 90's movie Small Soldiers sitting in the little boys shirts. It fits perfectly and even has the small soldiers logo on the arm. The expression on my face says it all.
The next day I decided to make a video of all the awesome finds from op shops over the past few months. It was so much fun going through everything again and playing with it all.
I'd love to hear from you guys. Have you found anything rad at op shops lately? Do you collect cassette tapes?
