It has taken me many days to write this post. This week has been one of the most amazing weeks of my life. After 3 years Liam and I have hit a huge milestone. Over 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. It it completely overwhelming to think about just how many people that is.
When we uploaded our first video 3 years ago we honestly didn't think too much would happen. I was working as a Veterinary nurse and had no one other than Liam to talk to about comic books. I thought by making a channel I could meet other people and share my passion. I really wanted to bring new readers to comic books and show them how much fun it could be.
This has led us to some amazing opportunities. Talking on panels at conventions, meeting fans from around the world, working with rad YouTubers who I now call friends, meeting my idols and even being contacted by DC Comics to be a part of the DC Hanna Barbera bookclub.
Not only did we reach this milestone on our own YouTube channel, but we also had our second Scooby Apocalypse video go live on the DC Fans channel this week. This one is extra special as it was unscripted and filmed on Liam and I's 12 year anniversary. Never did I think I would be sharing my passion for Scooby Doo on the official DC Comics fans channel. Never in a million years.
It was such a glamorous night and perhaps the most adult thing I've ever done. We drank espressos and felt so young looking at all the older couples in their fancy outfits. I had tears running down my face as Molly took to the stage in her glittering gold gown with bright red lips. After she finished Molly walked over to a small desk to sign CD'S, and I was one of the lucky 10 people to meet her even though they had no CD's left. Words spewed out of my mouth as I told her how much she meant to me and the influence she had made on me. She said "Thank You" and I shuffled away. It was one of the most surreal moments of my entire life. I have looked up to 3 people for as long as I can remember. Cyndi Lauper, Adam West and Molly Ringwald. I never ever ever ever thought I would be able to Thank her face to face. Liam is honestly the most thoughtful and incredible person I have ever known and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. I can not believe he made that happen.
Speaking of which, Liam had a huge week as well with his 4th book finally finished. It's called Local and took him over 2 years to complete. The amazing cover art is by our friend Erin Hunting and is absolutely stunning.
I am so proud of him, he works so hard as a baker with insane hours and still found time to write and complete Local. It will be available to buy online soon, so stay tuned.
How do I even begin to explain how amazing you guys are? Your comments, msgs, real life conversations and fan mail are so wonderful and you all mean so much to us. Thank you for watching, sharing and being passionate about what we do. We will never be able to thank you for everything you've done for us. The only thing we can do is keep making videos for as long as we can and hope we can make you smile.
Thank you Nerderinos for everything.
